About Our Pool and Swimming Programs 2019

The Round Hill clubhouse and pool will officially open on Friday, May 24th at 11am and close on Labor Day, Monday September 2th, at 5pm.  We have many social events, from pot luck dinner cookouts, to a dive in movie night, and late night swims.  We have a huge 4th of July party from a parade in the morning to the last hot dog off the grill at 5pm.  Volunteer at the beer troughs or grill up some hot dogs and burgers for a while. It's a great way to meet other members and have a few laughs.  Consider taking time to remind your child(ren) to be a good members by follow the rules while at the pool, to pick up after themselves, and be respectful to everyone.  Adults, we want you to have a great summer too.  You'll find tables for eating (we have lots of delivery menus at the front desk with the lifeguards and grills for you to use) on the upper patio under the lights and near the Snack Shack.  We'd like to keep the food contained in that area so that it won't get in the pool.  As for the tables at poolside, they must remain where they are on the west end to allow access for any emergency medical professionals and their equipment to make it clearly throughout the entire pool deck at a moment's notice.  We're sure you can appreciate that caution, so thank you!  Get ready for a fun and relaxing summer at the pool!

Pool Hours are 11 am to 9 pm from opening day through the first part of August when school starts, then we switch to school/pool hours.

School Pool Hours are pretty simple.  If we have school on that day, the pool will open at 4 pm.  If we have school the following day, the pool will close at 7 pm.  Otherwise, we will be open as usual from 11 am to 9 pm.

Guests of members are always welcome at Round Hill.  The guest must be accompanied by a member.  It’s best if the member arrives first so the guest doesn't have to wait.  Nonmember/guest swim fee is $5 per person. Full members may purchase a guest pass ticket in advance; this allows purchasing multiple "punches" at a reduced rate.  See the front desk lifeguard about purchasing one.

Swim Lessons

Swim lessons are always a huge hit! This is a great way for your child to learn the basic strokes and to get comfortable in the water. Instructors for 2019 are Paige Ceule & Faith Danaher.  They are Red Cross certified for swim instruction and can teach swimming for members of all ages, newborn to 100.  Group swim lessons will be held Mondays through Thursdays over three x 2-week sessions, beginning early June to late July.  A swimmer may take one session or several.  This is a great way for a swimmer to learn the basic strokes and some stroke refinement and move on to the noncomete swim team.

Swim Team

This is a fun non-compete swim team.  Round Hill pool is not a straight 25-meter competition pool, we feel children should still have the ability to experience a team atmosphere with training and practices as a competitive team does.  The main focus is on stroke refinement and improving technique and speed. The coaches this year are are state WINNERS from the awesome boys & girls swim programs at Shawnee Mission East, and they are itching to work with the kids this year. Coach Emily Lomshek & Adam Jolles.

Registration form is here: https://roundhillclub.org/sites/default/files/Round_Hill_Swim_Team_Registration_2019_lomshekandjolles.pdf

Swim team starts Monday, June 3th through July 11th with the week of the 4th of July off.

Practices are Mondays thru Thursdays

Swim Team Levels and Times of Workout:

Advanced Swimmers (11+) 7:00 - 7:40am
Intermediate Swimmers (7-11) 7:40 - 8:20 am
Beginner Swimmers (7 and younger) 8:20 - 9:00 am

The children should know the basic strokes of freestyle, backstroke, breast stroke and a bit of knowledge on butterfly.  This is swim team and not swim lessons.  Check out swim lessons to have your child learn the strokes, here at https://roundhillclub.org/sites/default/files/Round_Hill__2019_Group_Swim_Lessons%20session%201-3.pdf
